Water Strategy

The Vulkan Water Strategy explores flood and stormwater challenges in the broader Vulkan area. The study seeks to identify underlying causes and consequences, propose effective solutions, and highlight opportunities for site-specific, nature-based stormwater management.

Water has always been a driving force in the development along the Akerselva River. Its hydropower laid the groundwork for a number of major industrial enterprises. Today, Akerselva Environmental Park serves as a green artery in Oslo, while the former industrial sites have been transformed into vibrant hubs for culture, business, sports, and recreation.
