“El Cor del Besòs” received third prize in the invited competition held in Barcelona in 2021. The project presents a vision for territorial transformation rooted in the resilience of the river landscape. The river park is reimagined as a vibrant gathering space that unites the neighborhoods on both sides of the river, which are currently divided by car infrastructure. By revitalizing the existing network of streets and bridges, the two riverbanks are seamlessly connected, creating welcoming spaces for both nature and people.

At the core of the proposal is the transformation of the Gran Via–Besòs junction, featuring an intermodal station and a metropolitan park that serve as the focal point of this new, integrated urban landscape.
